WELCOME TO RANDERS BIKE WEEK – AUGUST 1ST TO 4TH, 2024

Randers Bike Week is an international cycling event that attracts licensed riders from large parts of Europe.

With various stages challenging the riders both physically and mentally, Randers Bike Week demonstrates its commitment to promoting cycling and creating an inspiring experience for both participants and spectators.

Our goal is to gather cycling enthusiasts from across Europe for an exciting week of great cycling from morning till evening.

Starting from 2024, Randers Bike Week will have a new organizer. Moving forward, it will be BCC Elite / Belgian Cycling Club and Allan Johansen who will take over the Randers Bike Week event. Thus, the founder of the race, Bjarne Olsen, will pass the baton.

Bjarne Olsen, who has been a central figure since the beginning of Randers Bike Week, 12 years ago, states: "It has been a pleasure to be part of this fantastic cycling race for so many years. I am proud of what we have achieved, and I am sure that Allan Johansen will continue to lead the race to new heights."

With a passion for cycling and solid experience in event management, Allan Johansen and Belgian Cycling Club are looking forward to bringing fresh energy and innovation to the event.

With Allan Johansen's background as a professional cyclist, new perspectives and opportunities will be opened up. It is our hope that this will strengthen Randers Bike Week as a significant cycling event at the international level.

PROLOGUE – AT CLAUSHOLM CASTLE

Thursday, August 1, 2024

Randers Bike Week opened with an exciting new time trial stage, starting and finishing at Clausholm Castle.

The route is 9 km long, starting on Dyrhavevej towards Hvalløs. There, you turn sharply onto Rubdrupvej, heading to the bottom where you turn onto Rud Kirkevej, ascending towards Hvalløsvej and back to Hvalløs, continuing towards Clausholm.

On Dyrhavevej, participants will ride in both directions, so be aware of oncoming riders.

Start Location: Dyrhavevej 3, 8370 Hadsten

Parking: Designated parking areas will be available on the Clausholm grounds.

The second stage of Randers Bike Week is a short and intense criterium, where cyclists compete on a small but challenging circuit. With sharp turns and rapid accelerations, this stage tests the riders’ technical skills and speed. Spectators along the route will witness thrilling action and tactical maneuvers as the riders fight for positions and attempt to break away from the pack.

It will be a nerve-wracking battle where every second counts, and only the strongest and most tactically adept cyclists will emerge victorious from this intense criterium stage.

Stage 2/criterium will be held on a new 6.5 km long circuit, featuring the 800-meter-long Svinding Skovbakke halfway through.

In the third stage of Randers Bike Week, riders will tackle a new route. This relatively flat and fast course will be ideal for the quickest riders in the field, who will battle for victory in a thrilling sprint to the finish line.

With the potential for high speeds and minimal technical challenges, spectators can expect an explosive stage where the sprint teams will work hard to position their star riders at the front of the pack, giving them the best possible chance for success. It will be an exciting day of racing as sprinters showcase their strength and compete for victory in the third stage of Randers Bike Week.
